From May 27 - Sept. 30, 2012 Gallery Chelsea Sylt
is pleased to present photographic works by the
American Film Director in Kampen and Morsum.

Using the Digigraphic process (Digigraphie©), a larger convolute of prints was produced by DAVID LYNCH in 2008. Initiated by EPSON Germany and photographer/filmmaker Burkhard von Harder, 30 certified works from this
series are on display on Sylt during the current summer season.
In 2007 von Harder established Gallery Chelsea as Projectroom in Kampen,
a place dedicated at its heart to photography. Another branch on the
island was added in Morsum in 2010.
DAVID LYNCH, born 1946 in Missoula, Montana (USA), studied Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia from 1965 -1967.
Painting triggered his interest in filmmaking and the film Eraserhead (1977) made him an immediate cult figure. The masterpieces Elephant Man, Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive followed, the TV series Twin Peaks is legend.

Yet his interests in drawing, lithography and photography form his artistic roots. In May 1969 he had his first exhibition in the Paley Library Gallery in Philadelphia, international single and group exhibitions followed en suite.
In 2008 DAVID LYNCH exhibited for the very first time in Germany: EPSON Kunstbetrieb Duesseldorf, in cooperation with the camera producer Hasselblad, staged the exhibition: „David Lynch: New Photographs“. LYNCH had printed small editions using EPSON technology (Digigraphie©).
2009 another important exhibition in Germany followed in the
Max Ernst Museum Bruehl: a multifaceted ‚Gesamtkunstwerk‘ of 150 works.
In 2010 DAVID LYNCH was not only the recipient of the Filmpreis Koeln at the Cologne Conference, he was also honored with the Kaiserring of the city of Goslar. Bestowed annually since 1975, the Kaiserring
is one of the art worlds most prestigious awards.
The Prize is connected to an exhibition in the Moenchehaus Museum Goslar.

In 2011 DAVID LYNCH designed the Member Club Silencio in Paris
(silencio-club.com), a new interpretation of the traditional Salon.
